Biography

Farhat Beg joined the faculty of the University of California, San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering in 2003. He received his Ph.D. from the University of London's Imperial College, where he focused on optical X-ray studies of Z-pinch plasmas. Before joining UC San Diego, Beg worked as a research associate at Imperial College's Blackett Laboratory in London. From 1991 to 1995, he held an Association of Commonwealth Universities Fellowship. He serves as the Co-Director of the UC San Diego Fusion Engineering Institute.
