Biography

Fatemeh Rajaii, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. She specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid, orbital, and facial surgery, providing comprehensive care for conditions such as eyelid malpositions, facial skin cancers, tear drainage issues, and thyroid eye disease. Her research interests focus on the effects of eyelid surgery on ocular surface disease and visual function, as well as innovative oculoplastic surgical techniques. Dr. Rajaii earned her M.D. and Ph.D. in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her internship in internal medicine at Mercy Medical Center. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan before joining the Wilmer faculty. In addition to her clinical practice, she actively participates as a principal investigator in clinical trials and is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of ophthalmologists, particularly through initiatives that enhance diversity in the field.
