Biography

Fatima Varner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development & Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on the intersection of ethnicity, gender, and parenting, particularly in the context of Black families. Dr. Varner investigates how racism-related stressors affect parenting practices and the academic outcomes of adolescents.
