Biography

Fatma Aziza Merzouki is a Data Scientist and Postdoc Researcher at the Institute of Global Health at the University of Geneva. She completed her PhD in Computer Science at UNIGE and holds both a BSc and MSc from the same institution, awarded in 2010 and 2012, respectively. Between 2013 and 2018, she worked as a research teaching assistant in the Scientific Parallel Computing group, focusing on cell-based numerical modelling of epithelial tissues, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with biologists and biophysicists. Her teaching experience includes courses such as 'Metaheuristics in Optimisation Problems', 'Modelling and Simulation of Natural Phenomena', and 'Introduction to Computational Finance'. Since July 2018, her research has centered on exploring the association between socio-behavioral factors and HIV prevalence and incidence in Sub-Saharan Africa. Her work involves data discovery within large, complex datasets and applies data analytics and artificial intelligence to derive insights.
