Dr. Fattaneh Tavassoli

Biography

Fattaneh Tavassoli is an internationally recognized expert in breast and gynecologic pathology, known for authoring and co-editing fundamental texts, including editions of "Pathology of the Breast" which has become a gold standard reference in the field. She is currently engaged in preparing the third edition. Dr. Tavassoli also serves as a co-editor for the World Health Organization's Atlas of Tumours of the Breast and Female Genital Tract, which provides essential classifications for tumors in these areas. Her contributions include over 200 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters. She has established a busy consultation service and acts as a national and international consultant for challenging cases involving lesions of the breast, ovary, uterus, vulva, and vagina. A passionate advocate for education in pathology, Dr. Tavassoli has organized and taught a variety of courses and slide seminars globally, and has developed a computer-based expert system for breast pathology. She is recognized for her roles as a speaker and educator on the world stage.
