Dr. Fay Hadley

Biography

Professor Fay Hadley holds the position of Deputy Director at the Macquarie University Early Childhood Research Centre. She specializes in leadership in early childhood education and focuses on partnerships with families. Fay's primary research area examines leadership in early childhood education, including the mentoring and professional development of early childhood teachers. She is especially interested in how socio-political environments impact the work of early childhood educators. Her research has covered partnerships among diverse families in various educational settings and their effects on child outcomes. Fay's PhD research extended findings from studies conducted in early childhood centers in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, collaborating with colleagues from Canada and Belgium. She has served as Chief Investigator for projects such as the Approved Learning Frameworks Update and has been awarded several grants supporting early childhood teacher mentorship programs. Fay teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in early childhood education at Macquarie's School of Education, including ECH3260: Children, Families, and Communities in a Diverse Society. She has received multiple teaching awards, highlighting her significant contributions to enhancing educational practices.
