Dr. Federica Agostini

Biography

Federica Agostini is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, focusing on International and European Law within the School of Law. Her research primarily explores the role of law in mobilizing capital markets to achieve sustainability goals, with a specialization in corporate governance and EU financial regulation. Prior to joining Utrecht University, Federica was a Research Associate at the European University Institute's Florence School of Banking and Finance, where she contributed to research and executive training activities related to sustainable finance, climate risks, and green bonds. Additionally, she served as an external consultant for the European Central Bank, involved in training programs addressing the relevance of climate and nature-related risks for central banks and banking supervisors. Her previous experience includes working as a Research Teaching Associate at the University of Glasgow and at the Italian National Central Bank. Federica also acted as a consultant for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, focusing on designing policy products to advance green finance. She holds a Ph.D. in LL.M. Corporate Financial Law (with distinction) from the University of Glasgow and graduated cum laude with a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Law, specializing in EU Comparative Law, from the University of Trento.
