Dr. Federica De Rossa

Biography

Federica De Rossa earned a Law Degree from the University of Fribourg, passed the Swiss Bar examination, and obtained a Doctorate in Law from the same university, receiving the prix Vigener award in 2010. As of January 2021, she serves as an Associate Professor in Law Economics at the Faculty of Economics at Università della Svizzera italiana. Additionally, she is the Deputy Federal Justice at the Federal Supreme Court (Second Public Law Division) in Lausanne and is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Lucerne. Prof. De Rossa is the director of the Law Institute (IDUSI) and provides independent expertise as part of the Research Services for the European Parliament. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Finanzmarktrecht (SZW) and a committee member of the Swiss section of the International Commission of Jurists. Her research focus includes public law, national and international economics, particularly the dynamics of economics in the context of human rights protection. Her work encompasses public enterprises, corporate governance, regulatory frameworks for sustainable public procurement, and mechanisms for ensuring integrity in public administration. She has published on topics related to Swiss economic law and European law, especially in the context of bilateral agreements between Switzerland and the European Union regarding the free movement of persons.
