Dr. Federica Goffi

Biography

Federica Goffi is a Professor at the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism at Carleton University. She holds a PhD in Architecture Design Research from Virginia Tech and a degree in Architecture from the University of Genoa, Italy, where she is also a licensed architect. Goffi’s academic career includes positions such as Chair of the Research, Practice, Teaching, and Collaborative Program established in 2019, Interim Director of ASAU, and Associate Director of Graduate Studies. Her research interests focus on building renewal, heritage, and the relationship of architecture to time, specifically the roles of sustainability and psychosomatic health in architectural design. She is also an accomplished author, having published books and articles in reputable outlets, and has co-edited volumes on architectural theory and practice. Goffi's contributions extend to curating international symposiums, leading collaborative research projects, and actively engaging in architecture discourse through various platforms.
