Dr. Federico Bonaddio

Biography

Federico obtained a BA degree in French and Spanish from Bristol University in 1986. He completed an MA in Spanish at Leeds University the subsequent year and was awarded a PhD from the same institution in 1992. He began his teaching career at Glasgow University in 1991 and has held positions at Aberdeen University and Hull University before being appointed at King’s College London in 1998. Federico has edited and authored several works, including 'Companion to Federico García Lorca' (2007) and 'Federico García Lorca: Poetics of Self-Consciousness' (2010). His research interests focus on modern Spanish fiction, poetry, and film, with a strong emphasis on 20th-century Spanish culture and the poetics of Federico García Lorca. He is engaged in scholarly work analyzing cultural responses to Spain's transition from dictatorship to democracy and has supervised numerous PhD projects in contemporary Spanish literature. Federico is also involved in public engagements related to his field, offering talks and presentations on modern Spanish culture.
