Biography

Fei Liu received a Ph.D. degree in immunology from the 4th Military Medical University in Xi’an, China in 2002. Liu's postdoctoral work focused on developmental biology in the laboratories of Dr. Stefan Hoppler at the University of Dundee and the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom, as well as Dr. Sarah Miller at the University of Pennsylvania. He started his independent research career at Texas A&M University on October 1, 2008, and was tenured and promoted to associate professor on September 1, 2014. Liu's research is continuously supported by federal grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Defense (DoD). He directs and teaches multiple graduate courses and serves as a chair member on advisory committees for master's and Ph.D. students. Liu is actively involved in national and international grant review panels and serves as an associate editor for the journal Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology. He also organizes symposium sessions at annual conferences for notable associations like the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR).
