Dr. Fei Liu

Biography

Fei Liu completed undergraduate studies in Chemistry at John Carroll University and pursued a PhD in Organic Chemistry at Yale University. Subsequently, he undertook NIH postdoctoral fellowship work focusing on new biosynthetic approaches in molecular medicine at Harvard Medical School. In 2004, Liu relocated from Boston to Sydney, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences at Macquarie University. His research primarily concentrates on developing efficient synthetic methods for accessing small molecules relevant to chemistry and biology. He has a long-standing interest in chemical proteomics and its applications to fundamental biological discoveries and medicine, working closely with the Australian Proteomics Analysis Facility. Liu has published numerous papers and is involved in various research projects that explore areas such as asymmetric catalytic reactions, bond formation, and biological probes. His academic contributions are significant, with a notable h-index reflecting his impact in the field.
