Biography

Professor Fei Zhou specializes in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics. He has conducted extensive research in the areas of Quantum Magnetism and Quantum Many-body Physics, particularly focusing on applications of Quantum Field Theory and Conformal Field Theory. His research covers topics such as ultra-cold quantum matter, strong-coupling physics, and the dynamics of systems far from equilibrium. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of emergent quantum phenomena, including quantum entanglement and dynamic correlations in many-body systems. Zhou obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1989 and a Doctoral Degree from the University of Washington in 1997. His academic career includes positions as an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University and the University of British Columbia, where he has been since 2003. Since 2013, he has served as a Professor at UBC. Zhou has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field, including the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship and recognition as a fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. He is involved in supervising graduate students and is eager to engage new students in his research group.
