Biography

Feike Dijkstra is a biogeochemist at the University of Sydney, where he has worked since 2010. He was an ARC Future Fellow from 2011 to 2015. His research focuses on plant-microbial interactions and their effects on carbon and nutrient cycling, especially in the context of global climate change. Dijkstra’s work includes the development of dynamic ecological models and the use of stable isotope techniques to study the complexities of ecosystems affected by climate change. He has a PhD from Wageningen University (2001) and an MSc (1996) in the Netherlands. His extensive background includes postdoctoral positions at the University of Minnesota and the University of California, Santa Cruz as well as research scientist roles in Colorado. Dijkstra’s laboratory conducts pioneering research on carbon and nutrient dynamics in grasslands, forests, and agro-ecosystems, illustrating his commitment to advancing our understanding of ecological processes and their importance in addressing climate challenges.
