Dr. Felicitas Egunyu

Biography

Felicitas Egunyu is an Assistant Professor in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability at the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on environmental governance, particularly assessing the social impacts of resource extraction, with a deep interest in processes that contribute to participatory, inclusive, and equitable impact assessments. She is particularly focused on critical minerals and artisanal small-scale mining, investigating the socio-economic impacts of these sectors in Uganda as well as in Canada and Ghana. Felicitas has a diverse background, having worked across government, private sector, consulting, and not-for-profit organizations, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to her academic role. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Environment and Sustainability, University of Saskatchewan.
