Biography

Felipe Szabzon is a postdoctoral fellow working on the 'Covid-19 mental health' project at the University of Copenhagen's Department of English, Germanic, and Romance Studies (ENGEROM). He holds a double PhD degree in Dynamics of Health and Social Welfare from the National School of Public Health in Portugal and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in France. Additionally, he has a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of São Paulo and a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology from PUC-SP. Szabzon has experience working with the National Mental Health Programme of the Portuguese Ministry of Health and is a permanent researcher at the Brazilian Centre for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP). His main research interests focus on the analysis of mental health policy and global mental health practices, emphasizing the subjective experiences of individuals in contexts of adversity and social exclusion. He co-founded the Platform for Social Research on Mental Health in Latin America (PLASMA).
