Biography

Professor Hoehn teaches property law, administrative law, and municipal law at the University of Saskatchewan. He has previously taught Aboriginal law and legal research writing, and served as a part-time member of the Saskatchewan Municipal Board. His contributions to academia have been recognized with several awards, including the Provost’s Outstanding Teacher Award from the College of Law in 2016 and the scholarly writing award from the Saskatchewan Book Awards in 2013 for his work 'Reconciling Sovereignties: Aboriginal Nations Canada'. Professor Hoehn has a rich background in practicing law, having worked full-time in Saskatoon for 15 years. He began his teaching career focusing on legal issues in urban studies and planning within the Department of Geography and Planning. He has published significant texts, including 'Municipalities and Canadian Law: Defining Authority Local Governments'. Additionally, he directed courses at the Native Law Centre from 2008 to 2014 and participated in the National Advanced Certificate Local Authority Administration Program administered by the University of Alberta and Dalhousie University from 2003 to 2005.
