Biography

Felix Schwenninger is an Associate Professor at the University of Twente in the Department of Applied Mathematics. His research primarily focuses on functional analysis, particularly operator theory and its applications in analysis and control problems involving partial differential equations. Among his specific research interests are semigroup theory, functional calculus, input-to-state stability, and the control of infinite-dimensional systems, with particular attention to optimising constants for Crouzeix's conjecture. In addition to his research work, he teaches several Bachelor and Master courses within the Applied Mathematics programme, including service teaching and courses within the Dutch-wide MasterMath programme. He also coordinates the Math Track for the University’s Honours Bachelor programme and is involved with the Dutch Institute for Systems Control. Schwenninger has held post-doctoral positions at the University of Hamburg and the University of Wuppertal, where he previously held a temporary professor position. His educational background includes undergraduate studies at TU Wien.
