Biography

Femke Laagland graduated from Radboud University, Netherlands, in 2005 with a cum laude degree in law. She initially worked as a lawyer in employment law at a law firm before transitioning to Radboud University in 2009 as a lecturer and PhD student. She obtained her PhD in 2013 and was appointed as a professor of (European) Labour Law in January 2018. Femke teaches courses in labour law in both Dutch and English. Her current research focuses on cross-border situations and how European law regulates national employment relationships. Femke is also actively involved in various councils and editorial boards, including being a Crown-appointed member of the Social Economic Council of the Netherlands since July 2020 and a member of the research committee related to the conduct of broadcasters.
