Biography
Femke Schröder studied Technical Medicine at the University of Twente and worked as a technical physician at the OCON centre for orthopaedic surgery in Hengelo. In 2017, she obtained the opportunity to start a clinical fellowship for technical physicians specializing in 3D imaging technology in orthopaedic surgery. Alongside her position at OCON, she was also a PhD student in the department, focusing her research on using low to high field MRI to improve diagnosis related to problematic total knee arthroplasty, successfully defending her thesis in 2021. After transitioning to MST at the end of 2021, she continued her work as a specialized technical physician in the 3D lab and orthopaedic department. In April 2022, she combined her work for MST with an appointment in technical medicine education, where she focuses on implementing 3D imaging technology to enhance patient-specific approaches in orthopaedic surgery.
