Biography

Ferda Kolatan is an Associate Professor and Architecture Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania's Weitzman School of Design, as well as a founding director of SU11 Architecture + Design, an award-winning practice based in New York. He earned his Architectural Diploma from RWTH Aachen and his Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. His work has been featured in renowned exhibition venues, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Venice Architectural Biennale, and Art Basel, among others. Kolatan has published numerous articles and book chapters, co-authoring 'Meander: Variegating Architecture' in 2010 and is set to release a new book, 'Misfits & Hybrids: Architectural Artifacts in the 21st-Century City' with Routledge in spring 2024. His research studio in Cairo received the AIA Architect Studio Prize, and he was recognized as a Young Society Leader by the Turkish American Society in New York.
