Biography

Fernando Goldenberg, MD is a specialist in critical care medicine with a sub-specialization in neurocritical care. He is a member of a multidisciplinary team of experts working in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit (Neuro-ICU), dedicated to the diagnosis and management of patients suffering from ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. Dr. Goldenberg specializes in the management of critically ill patients with brain tumors, cerebral edema, status epilepticus, and severe Guillain-Barre syndrome. He contributes to a wide range of research investigations related to the care of critically ill neurological patients and formal diagnosis of brain death. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Goldenberg is involved in teaching and administration of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship training program, instructing neurology and neurosurgery residents, critical care medicine fellows, and medical students. He is also an active speaker, having lectured on stroke and brain injury treatment at medical meetings across the United States and South America.
