He strongly believes that understanding the mechanisms of action of NINETs is a critical step in translating research knowledge into clinical practice, having a direct and immediate positive impact on the lives of those struggling with devastating forms of mental illness. Fidel is the Director of the Non-Invasive Neurostimulation Therapies (NINET) Laboratory and the Schizophrenia Program, where he actively investigates various forms of NINET using a range of neurophysiological tools to research biomarkers. His laboratory is recognized as a center in Canada that hosts simultaneous TMS-fMRI and tDCS-fMRI capabilities.
