Professor Dr. Filip Fors Connolly

Biography

Filip Fors Connolly is an Associate Professor at Umeå University, specializing in Sociology and Psychology. His research primarily focuses on social psychological factors that influence individuals' subjective well-being. He investigates psychosocial working conditions, mental health, social isolation, loneliness, as well as the effects of gender and social status on personal well-being. Recent interests have included the public’s attitudes and expectations regarding the development of artificial intelligence, highlighted through a study of Swedish expectations of transformative AI initiated in 2013. Furthermore, Connolly is also involved in European research projects like the European Social Survey (ESS) and the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). Currently, he is participating in a research project at Stockholm University that explores experiences of fairness and well-being among entrepreneurs in Sweden. His academic contributions aim at understanding the complexities of health, well-being, and quality of life within various social contexts.
