Filipe Arroyo Cardoso, born in Lisbon, Portugal, graduated in Physics Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico – University of Lisbon in 2005. In 2011, he obtained his PhD in Physics Engineering, focusing on magnetoresistive biosensors for Lab-on-a-Chip applications. Following his postdoctoral work at INESC-MN in Lisbon, he co-founded the startup Magnomics in 2014, serving as CEO and CTO. In 2018, he joined Columbia University as a research scientist, developing CMOS-based implantable devices. Since November 2022, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Delft University of Technology, where his research interests include CMOS-based biosensors for real-time monitoring of molecules, with applications in medical contexts, sports well-being, and environmental monitoring. He aims to minimize invasiveness and electronic waste through micro-/nano-fabrication techniques and wireless power communication.
