Biography

Fiona Bragg is an Associate Professor based at the Clinical Trial Service Unit & Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on epidemiology and diabetes within diverse populations, employing genomic and metabolomic approaches to gain a deeper understanding of the determinants and consequences of diabetes, particularly the vascular consequences. In addition to her research, Fiona co-leads the Non-Communicable Diseases module for the MSc in Global Health Science, where she teaches epidemiology as part of the public health course for medical students. She is also an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism. Fiona completed her medical studies at the University of St Andrews and the University of Manchester, initially training in general medicine. She underwent specialist training in public health in London, during which she earned her MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and her DPhil in Population Health from the Oxford Population Health. She is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health.
