Biography

Fiona Clement is a Professor and Head of the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary, with a PhD earned in 2006. She has extensive training in Health Services Research, Health Economics, and Health Policy. As the Director of the Health Technology Assessment Unit at the O’Brien Institute of Public Health, she leads a policy-responsive research unit that completes evidence synthesis, economic evaluations, and health technology assessments in response to decision-makers’ needs. Her research interests encompass drug and non-drug technology reimbursement, cost containment policy, and the evidence-based development of health policy. In 2014, she was selected as a Canadian Harkness Fellow, which provided her with a unique opportunity to study US healthcare policy.
