Fiona James earned a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). She completed an internship in Michigan and returned to OVC for a residency in Neurology, ultimately obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Science degree. Since 2011, Dr. James has been an adjunct faculty member at OVC, specializing in veterinary neurology and working with private practices in Ontario and the U.S. She joined the OVC Neurology Service in 2011 and currently directs the Comparative Epilepsy Program, which encompasses active projects examining canine electroencephalography and epilepsy syndromes. Additionally, she is a founding member of the OVC Rapid Prototyping of Patient-specific Implants for Dogs (RaPPID) research group.
