Biography

Fiona Leigh studied philosophy in Australia and the United States, specializing in ancient philosophy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Philosophy and Social Theory from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin, and a PhD in Philosophy from Monash University. Fiona held a post-doctoral position in Philosophy at King's College London from 2007 to 2009, during which she worked on Richard Sorabji's Ancient Commentators on Aristotle Project. In 2009, she took a permanent appointment as Lecturer in the Philosophy Department at University College London. She has published numerous journal articles and book chapters focusing on ancient philosophy, particularly on Plato and late-period dialogues such as the Sophist. Currently, Fiona is writing a monograph that offers a new reading of this dialogue from beginning to end. She has edited and co-edited several books, including 'Psychology and the Value of Plato, Aristotle, and Hellenistic Philosophy' (OUP, 2022) and 'Themes in Plato, Aristotle, and Hellenistic Philosophy: Keeling Lectures 2011-2018' (University of London Press, 2021).
