Dr. Fiona Scotney

Biography

Fiona Scotney is a teacher education professional with over 20 years of experience in the public tertiary sectors. Currently, she serves as the Director of the Tuckwell Scholarship Program at the Australian National University. She is a Non-Executive Director and Fellow at the NSW/ACT Regional Chair Association of Tertiary Education Management (ATEM). Scotney has a specific interest in enhancing student success and educational governance. She is passionate about facilitating access to education for underrepresented student cohorts and mentoring students, particularly professional women, to improve their academic and personal development. Through her work, she focuses on improving student experience and building a sense of belonging within the educational community. Fiona holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching (Secondary), a Master of Arts, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Additionally, she completed the Harvard Business School online Leadership Principles course and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors course. Her published works include reviews and interviews in various literary magazines such as Southerly and Cordite Poetry Review, along with a chapter in the Cambridge History of Australian Poetry.
