Biography

Fiorella Foscarini holds a PhD in Archival Studies from the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies at the University of British Columbia. Before joining academia, she held archival positions in Germany and Italy. She has taught archival studies in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. In her teaching and research, Professor Foscarini employs diplomatics, rhetorical genre studies, and information culture concepts to explore issues related to the creation, management, and use of records in organizational contexts. Her recent research project focuses on language translation in archival studies. She is a member of the Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA) and the National Association of Italian Archivists (ANAI). She also serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief for Archival Science and is part of the editorial boards for Archivaria, Records Management Journal, and JLIS.it.
