Fleur M. Ferguson, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on the application of chemical synthesis, biochemistry, and mass spectrometry to cell biology, aiming to develop new therapeutic strategies for cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Ferguson's laboratory seeks to enable the dissection of cellular signaling networks underlying disease development using selective tool compounds that act through inhibition, targeted degradation, and proximity-mediated pharmacology, as well as altering posttranslational modifications. She follows a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative approach to tackle fundamental questions in disease biology and drug discovery. Dr. Ferguson's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Imperial College London (2010) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge (2014). Her postdoctoral studies were conducted at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute & Harvard Medical School (2015-2020). She has received several awards including the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award (2022) and has developed chemoproteomic maps for degradable kinomes, contributing significantly to degrader discovery efforts.
