Flora Lysen is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University and a member of the Maastricht University Science, Technology, Society research group (MUSTS). Previously, she was an affiliated researcher at the Zentrum für Interdisziplinäre Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung at TU Berlin and co-initiated the interdisciplinary "Neurocultures" research group at the University of Amsterdam. Lysen defended her PhD dissertation at the University of Amsterdam in 2020, winning the ASCA Dissertation Award. She has also been a visiting fellow at Harvard University's Visual Environmental Studies department and has coordinated programs that facilitate exchanges between artists and scientists. Lysen advocates for diverse forms of art-science exchange within her university and serves on the steering committee for the Maastricht University Experimental Research Arts Network (MERIAN).
