Flora Salim is a full Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, where she serves as Deputy Director (Engagement) of the UNSW AI Institute. Salim is a member of the Australian Academy of Sciences' National Committee for Information and Computing Sciences and an elected member of the Australian Research Council College of Experts. She also serves as Vice Chair for the IEEE Task Force on AI for Time-Series and Spatio-Temporal Data and holds editorial positions on several leading journals. Salim is a Chief Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision Making and Society, co-leading the Mobilities Focus Area. Additionally, she has worked with industry and government partners, managing large-scale research projects and is involved in developing patents for systems deployed locally and globally. Professor Salim has held visiting professor appointments in Europe and continues to contribute significantly to her field.
