Biography

Florencia Camus is an independent research fellow in the Genetics, Evolution & Environment department at University College London. Her academic journey began at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, where she pursued undergraduate studies with a major in Genetics and Evolutionary Biology. She then transitioned to Monash University in Melbourne for her Honours and PhD, which she completed as part of the Marie Słodowska-Curie Fellowship in 2016. Her research focuses on evolutionary genetics and various aspects of genetics as they relate to environmental studies. Florencia is fluent in Spanish and participates actively in scientific discussions in her field, contributing to peer reviews and attending conferences such as those organized by the Chilean Evolution Society.
