Biography

María Florencia Chiaramonte received her Ph.D. from Brown University in 2022. She completed her undergraduate degree in Spanish Language and Culture at Mar del Plata National University (UNMdP) in Argentina. Her main fields of study are literature and visual art of 19th Century Latin America, with a strong emphasis on ethnic, indigenous, and gender studies. With a passion for language teaching, she has over 10 years of experience and is particularly interested in creating content-based courses for teaching Spanish to Heritage Speakers. Prior to joining Princeton, Flor worked in a program for Spanish learners hosted by UNMdP, where she taught and coordinated both beginner and advanced Spanish classes, as well as literature courses at Brown University. Her academic journey reflects a commitment to understanding and exploring the narratives of underrepresented voices in Latin American literature and culture.
