Dr. Florencia Pita

Biography

Florencia Pita is a lecturer at the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania, where she teaches Design Studios and Visual Studies courses. She is also recognized for her work as the principal of Florencia Pita & Co., a Los Angeles based design office dedicated to exploring the diverse capacities of architecture within the urban landscape. Pita graduated in 1998 from the National University of Rosario in Argentina with a licensure degree. She furthered her studies with a Fulbright scholarship at Columbia University, where she earned a Master's Degree from the Master of Science in Architecture and Advanced Design program in 2001. Pita has worked with notable firms such as Greg Lynn FORM and Gehry Partners in Los Angeles, as well as Eisenman Architects and Asymptote in New York City. Her projects span various mediums and scales, including product design, exhibition design, and urban landscape design, and her work has been featured in prestigious museum collections such as MoMA and the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2016, she was a featured participant in the U.S. Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Pita serves as a guest professor in architecture schools across the United States and Europe, having held notable positions like the Louis Kahn Visiting Assistant Professor of Architectural Design at Yale's School of Architecture.
