Biography

Florian Albrecht is a molecular biologist currently working towards obtaining a PhD in Johan Henriksson's lab at Umeå University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a specialization in Molecular Biology from the University of Vienna and a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from Umeå University. His research focuses on high-throughput methods for single-cell genome-wide probing of gene functions. He has studied Escherichia coli, specifically the commonly used K12 strain, where over 30 percent of gene annotations have been experimentally validated. His current project involves unlocking perturbation sequencing, a single-cell method that allows for the genome-wide probing of gene functions in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
