Biography

Professor Eyer conducts research in the field of clinical toxicology, focusing on toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic processes through experimental and clinical models. His key research areas encompass methods for poison elimination, addiction medicine, and critical care toxicology, with an additional focus on the genetics of alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. After completing his undergraduate and doctoral studies in 2000 at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, he joined the university hospital Klinikum rechts der Isar, where he served as an assistant physician in clinical toxicology. He achieved German medical board certification in internal medicine in 2007, followed by further certifications in internal intensive care medicine in 2009 and addiction medicine in 2010. In 2010, he obtained a postdoctoral teaching qualification (habilitation). In 2012, Professor Eyer was appointed to his current professorship at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His clinical specialties include critical care toxicology and addiction medicine.
