Florian Seitz holds the Chair of Geodetic Geodynamics at the Deutsches Geodätisches Forschungsinstitut (German Geodetic Research Institute) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His primary scientific interests include exploring dynamic processes and interactions within the Earth system, satellite geodesy, and the realization of global and regional geodetic reference systems. He has conducted significant studies on geodynamics, sea level changes, ocean currents, and the use of radar measurements along with satellite altimetry. Seitz has been affiliated with TUM since his studies in geodesy and worked as a research fellow at DGFI from 2000 to 2007. In 2004, he obtained his doctorate from TUM, focusing on atmospheric and oceanic influences on Earth rotation. He acquired his postdoctoral teaching qualification in 2011 and spent several months as a research fellow at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California in 2006. From 2007 to 2012, he held the position of junior professor for Earth-Oriented Space Science and Technology (ESPACE) at TUM and became a full professor in 2012, also serving as the director of DGFI-TUM.
