Dr. Flurina Schneider

Biography

Flurina Schneider is an Associated Senior Research Scientist at the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) at the University of Bern. Her research focuses on sustainable development, governance, and the use of natural resources, particularly concerning water, soils, and stakeholders' perceptions and values. She investigates sustainability transformations and social learning processes, aiming to support transdisciplinary co-production of knowledge. Flurina has field experience in various countries including Switzerland, Chile, China, Guatemala, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, and Madagascar, contributing to her expertise in international and interdisciplinary approaches to environmental challenges. She actively engages in academic discussions and public communications about the role of the social sciences in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
