Dr. Fran Calvache Meyer

Biography

Fran Calvache Meyer, PhD, is a licensed clinical health psychologist specializing in digestive diseases and behavioral medicine. He is part of Yale Medicine’s Functional Motility Program, closely collaborating with gastroenterologists to integrate psychological care into digestive health treatment. Dr. Meyer focuses on cognitive behavioral therapies for gastrointestinal diseases, gut-directed hypnotherapy, and mind-body interventions, aiding patients in managing chronic symptoms and improving their quality of life. Through his bilingual psychotherapy services, he ensures that English and Spanish-speaking patients receive equal access to quality care. Dr. Meyer is driven by a passion for making treatments accessible to neurodivergent individuals, adapting therapies to match their cognitive styles while maintaining a validating approach. He completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at Vanderbilt University and underwent a clinical psychology doctoral internship at the University of Chicago Medicine, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine.
