Biography

Franca Trubiano is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Graduate Group in Architecture at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, completed in 2005, and is a registered architect with l'Ordre des Architectes du Québec. Trubiano has authored 'Building Theories, Architecture Art Building' (Routledge 2023) and has co-edited several influential books, including 'Women [Re] Build; Stories, Polemics, Futures' (ORO - ar+d, 2019) and 'Design Construction High-Performance Homes' (Routledge Press 2012). Her research interests encompass Architectural Ethics, Building Industry dynamics, and the intersection of architecture with human health and fossil fuel dependencies. Actively involved in several scholarly initiatives, she has been recognized for her contributions to architecture education with multiple awards, including the G. Holmes Perkins Award for Distinguished Teaching from the Weitzman School. Trubiano's leadership extends to her role as President of the Building Technology Educators Society and as a founding member of the Editorial Board for the journal TAD (Technology, Architecture Design).
