Biography

Frances Burton is a Professor Emerita who has dedicated her career to studying non-human primates and their interaction with human environments. She has published three books, including her recent work discussing the influence of fire on the human evolutionary process, which has generated important discussions within the field. As part of a group of young primatologists, she helped disseminate knowledge about the cognitive abilities of non-human primates. Now happily retired, she resides in Cobourg.
