Dr. Frances Sprei

Biography

Frances Sprei is a Professor in Physical Resource Theory at Chalmers University, where she leads research on assessing personal mobility options including alternative fueled vehicles and innovative mobility forms such as car sharing and ride-sharing. Her work embraces the economic, political, technical, and behavioral aspects of mobility. She uses an interdisciplinary approach combining quantitative methods like econometrics with qualitative methods such as interviews. Frances is also involved in policy outreach and advice, serving as a member of the working group for fossil-free transport within the government's collaborative climate transition program. Additionally, she chairs the research council for regional climate transition in Västra Götaland and is a board member of the organization Transport & Environment.
