Biography

Graduated in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1999, she obtained her PhD in Conservation of Architectural Assets in 2006. She is currently a research fellow in Architectural Restoration at the Milan Polytechnic, where she heads the Laboratory in Conservation of Historic Buildings. She collaborates on the research project 'Critical Encyclopaedia on the Restoration and Reuse of Twentieth Century Architecture' at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture, focusing on the material history section. Francesca is the author of numerous essays on materials, construction techniques, and the restoration of twentieth-century architecture, including her recent publication 'Superfici di vetro negli anni Trenta' (Santarcangelo di Romagna, 2012).
