Dr. Francesca Maraschin

Biography

Francesca Maraschin works as a clinician in paediatrics at Whittington Hospital NHS Trust and holds a research role in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge. Her work primarily focuses on child health and health systems strengthening in low-resource settings. After completing her medical training at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, she worked in public hospitals in Johannesburg for four years, focusing primarily on paediatrics and paediatric surgery. Francesca later obtained an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford and completed an internship with the Global Health Systems Collaborative. During her time there, she published research on post-discharge care needs for neonates undergoing neonatal surgery. She subsequently joined Huma Analytics, a digital health company specializing in Remote Patient Monitoring, where she managed the organization’s research portfolio and oversaw clinical safety. Currently, she balances her clinical practice as a Senior Clinical Fellow in paediatrics with her research role at the University of Cambridge. Francesca is passionate about improving outcomes for children, particularly in low-resource settings, and is committed to combining clinical care, research, and health system innovation to achieve advancements in global health, child health, and policy.
