Biography

Francesca completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Kent and later earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing and an MSc in Mental Health Nursing from the University of Southampton. She has a clinical background as a Specialist Nurse focusing on eating disorders and is currently a PhD student at the Centre for Innovation in Mental Health within the School of Psychology. Francesca has dedicated over a decade to specializing in eating disorders, providing both inpatient and outpatient psychological therapy, and has been instrumental in evaluating and implementing new psychological treatments. As a Senior Teaching Fellow, she is committed to educating the next generation of nursing professionals about eating disorders and the importance of therapeutic skills in mental health nursing. Her doctoral research emphasizes the effectiveness of Specialist Supportive Clinical Management in treating adults with Anorexia Nervosa. Francesca is passionate about improving recovery experiences and reducing stigma surrounding eating disorders through her teaching and research work.
