Biography

Francesca Zecchinato holds a BSc in Cognitive Psychology and Psychobiology, and an MSc in Clinical Psychology, both earned with honors from the University of Padova in Italy. She is currently a PhD Research Fellow at the University of Southampton's NIHR ARC Wessex Mental Health Hub, where she works on a mixed-methods project aimed at identifying knowledge gaps for paramedics managing patients with mental health issues. Francesca has a strong background in understanding the needs of individuals experiencing mental health difficulties and identifying evidence-based strategies to improve care delivery. She is a qualified Clinical Psychologist in Italy, having completed her qualification in 2021. In addition to her research work, Francesca has experience teaching as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at the School of Psychology, facilitating seminars, demonstrating, and engaging in administrative tasks. Her past research includes projects on intergenerational transmission of psychopathology and resilience in children facing adversity, highlighting her commitment to improving mental health services and support for children and families.
