Biography

Francesco Biagi is a Visiting Professor at the University of Illinois College of Law and an Associate Professor of Comparative Public Law at the Department of Legal Studies of the University of Bologna. He serves as the Deputy Secretary General of the International Association of Constitutional Law and is a Research Fellow at the Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development in partnership with Johns Hopkins University SAIS Europe. Biagi completed his Ph.D. in Constitutional Law at the University of Ferrara after graduating magna cum laude in Law from the University of Bologna. His academic experience includes being a Senior Research Fellow at Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law in Heidelberg. With extensive background in constitutional law, he has worked on projects related to constitution-building and judicial institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Biagi has presented at numerous national and international conferences and published extensively on topics such as transition processes, forms of government, and constitutional justice. His upcoming publications include significant works on constitution-building and European constitutional courts.
